Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you’ll be welcomed by a Shaba Ventures & Tours representative who will gladly transfer you to your hotel while introducing you to Africa’s best and cleanest city.

Journey duration: 40 Minutes from Kigali International Airport to the hotel.

Following your breakfast, you’ll delve into the mystique of this beautiful land. A ring of hills forms the topography of this enchanting city.

Your next stop will be at the Genocide Memorial Museum. Begin your journey at the solemn Kigali Genocide Memorial, paying respects to the lives lost and the resilience of the nation.

You’ll then transfer to Akagera National Park, check into the lodge, and overnight.

Journey duration: 2 hours 30 minutes from Kigali to Akagera National Park

Depart from your lodge at 7 am to Akagera Park.

Three discrete environments describe Akagera National Park, with standard savannah dominating much of the region. An enormous swampy area along the border with Tanzania engulfs six lakes with numerous islands, some of which are forested. Low mountains on the flanks of the park with variable vegetation, ranging from short grasses on the summits to wooded savannah and dense thickets of forest, form the third environmental component of this National Park.

The morning game drive will enable you to see a number of animals as most of them are making their last hunt before the scorching sun rays emerge. Elephants, lions, leopards stand out in this wonderful savannah park. With a habitat of over 480 bird species, elephants, buffalos, giraffes, zebras, leopards, hyenas, lions, antelopes, bushbucks, Topis, Oribis, waterbucks, roan antelope, duiker, klipspringer, impala, and the world's largest antelope, there is no better place to be for a game drive.

You’ll have lunch and relax as you wait for the sunset boat cruise. Lake Ihema is your destination for the boat ride, offering an avenue to explore aquatic life.

As the sun rays fade, they appear to be rekindled by the lake as you look out for wildlife. You will return to your hotel in Kigali to rest, and during the night, you will enjoy our Kigali night tour package, where you'll experience the Kigali nightlife, including high-end restaurants and nightclubs.

You will check out of the hotel and head to Lac Kivu, where you will enjoy beach life and experience traveling from Kigali to the west of the country. Once you arrive at the hotel, you'll enjoy a high-end beach hotel view.

After lunch, you will go on a boat cruise to see Lake Kivu. In the afternoon, you'll rest and have dinner at one of the beachside restaurants and enjoy Rubavu's nightlife.
